Sustainable Web Application Challenge
Rules and Regulations
1. Event Objective
Sustainable Web Application Challenge aims to encourage students to design and develop responsive, cloud-based web applications that address real-world sustainability challenges. Participants will focus on creating user-friendly, scalable, and environmentally conscious digital solutions deployed on cloud platforms.
2. Theme
Sustainable Web Applications
The application should contribute to sustainability awareness or action in areas such as (but not limited to):
- Environmental awareness and education
- Energy efficiency and conservation
- Waste management and recycling
- Climate change and carbon footprint awareness
- Sustainable lifestyle and green practices
- Renewable energy awareness
3. Eligibility
- Open to B.Tech / MCA / IMCA students.
- Inter-disciplinary teams are permitted.
- Each participant can be part of only one team.
4. Team Composition
- Team size: 1 to 4 members
- One member must be designated as the Team Leader.
- Team members may belong to different branches or disciplines.
5. Technology Stack & Platform
Participants must develop the application using web technologies such as:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Any frontend framework (React, Angular, etc.) – optional
- Backend technologies (Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.) – optional
- Cloud Deployment (Mandatory): AWS or Microsoft Azure – Use of cloud services such as hosting and storage is required
6. Expected Deliverables
Each team must submit and present the following:
Web Application (Mandatory)
- A responsive web application with minimum three pages
- Clear navigation and intuitive user interface
- Sustainability-focused content or functionality
- Deployment URL (cloud-hosted)
7. Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be completed before the specified deadline.
- Accepted formats: Web application link (cloud URL).
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
- The application must be accessible and functional during evaluation.
8. Presentation & Demonstration
Each team will be allotted:
- 5–7 minutes for project presentation
- 3–5 minutes for Q&A
Teams must demonstrate: Application features and navigation; Responsiveness on different screen sizes; Cloud deployment and accessibility.
9. Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
